Sithonia Beach - Greece: Picture Update 11/7/2011
Sithonia (Σιθωνία) is a peninsula located south of the central part of
Chalkidiki which is also in the south-central part of the Chalkidiki
peninsula. The Kassandra Peninsula lies to the west and the Mount Athos
peninsula at the east. Sithonia is also a municipality, covering the
Sithonia peninsula. The seat of the municipality is the town Nikiti.

Zakynthos [ˈzakinθos]: ZANTE - Greece Beach Nov 4, 2011
Zakynthos [ˈzakinθos] ( listen), also Zante, the other form often used
in English and in Italian (Greek: Ζάκυνθος; Venetian: Zacinto), is a
Greek island in the Ionian Sea. It is the third largest of the Ionian
Islands. It is also a separate peripheral unit of the Ionian Islands
Periphery, and the only municipality of the peripheral unit. It covers
an area of 410 km2 (158 sq mi) and its coastline is roughly 123 km (76
mi) in length. The island is named after Zakynthos, the son of a
legendary Arcadian chief Dardanus. The name, like all similar names
ending in -nthos, is pre-Mycenaean or Pelasgian in origin. Zakynthos
has a thriving tourism industry.
